Do you have URL rewriting enabled? If you don't, you need to do this:

Yes, I have it on. That's what I meant when I said that I followed the installation procedure. I checked with webmin and rewrite is enabled in apache, so I don't need to change that config file.

Should I try to change that setting to NOT use rewrite?

Ok guys, disabling mod_rewrite as per the instructions worked, but somewhere there is a bug as mod_write was certainly enabled in apache, but didn't work with Argentum.

Do you have any other sites on the server that are using mod_rewrite?

Did you modify the provided .htaccess at all?

Did you follow the installation instructions? You need to enable mod_rewrite on your apache server, and if you are installing the application into a subdirectory, there are some changes you need to make in the config files and .htaccess per the installation instructions.

I have the same problem.

Using argentum 0.8.0, php 5.2.10.
Mod rewrite is enabled.

There is no .htaccess in the package, either.

I also tried turning instructions for not using mod_rewrite, but that did not work either.

I reloaded everything and started again; this time I get a bit further forward.
Now, on the installer first page, I get the messages: * Hostname must not contain any special characters * Password must not contain any special characters

Even though neither contains any special characters...

Any ideas?

This enabled me to get past all the installation stages.

However when I went to log in nothing happened.

So I checked the database and all the tables are empty including the users table.

Any ideas?

i have followed all the all the instructions in this thread and like the OP said there s no folder /admin/ in the .8.0 distro of argentum. i have mod rewrite and all the rest, yet i get the following error if you go into http://kinergia.com/proj

How did you solve that problem? Looks like your installation somehow worked.
I have the same problem, but don't know what to do.

- Apache 2.2.14 (mod_rewrite enabled),
- PHP 5.3.1 and
- MySQL 5.1.41.0

To fix this problem set short_open_tag = On in php.ini

I don't get how to install this. There is NO admin folder this path does not exist /admin/settings/install.html. I am using dreamhost and as far as I can tell the mod_rewrite is on by default. I'm extremely frustrated and about to give up. I just don't understand why i am missing files.. does the mod_rewrite actually create them?
